After about a block's walk from my starting point, I found a series of sounds that seemed to have stood out from the rest of what I recorded for that first walk. I was following the 1st Left, 2nd Right, 2nd Left method, and it led me nowhere interesting. I kept finding my strategy taking me to busy streets and the same areas numerous times. I very much liked this recording, I went on my walk shortly after it stopped raining and found this storm drain. At first I was drawn to the water level in the drain and the rapid rate that it was filling. Shortly after I started making the recording, an ambulance siren became audible some distance away. The siren started from nothing, and slowly gained volume. I found this increase interesting, for the sound of the water flowing down the gutters and into the drain remained at a steady rate, while the siren and increasing in volume and proximity.
