As I was approaching a dead end that would lead up a hill and into a parking lot, I stopped before my ascent as I heard the sudden combination of sounds around me. At the beginning, what sounds like police sirens become audible but then quickly fade away. Crows are cawing alongside the faint sound of water running down into the storm drains. Some distance away, beyond the parking lot ahead, a car alarm is audible, and about halfway through the clip, right before the second brief police siren is announced, the warning beeps of a large vehicle backing up can be heard. Above all these, the sound of the trees being swayed by the wind is the most dominant. I found that it is the depth of these sounds in that area that caught my interest the most, almost as if they occurred in layers on each other. You can listen to it here.
